“Having struggled with severe acne and psoriasis during my teen and early adult years, I was left with significant scarring, both physically and emotionally. This personal challenge motivated me to devote my career to developing NB Skin Science, a systematic skincare product and treatment plan to help those facing similar skin challenges to my own,” says NB Skin Science founder Kamani Ramlakan.

 Rising Above Financial Challenges

Despite financial difficulties, Kamani graduated from a FET college as the only student to achieve international recognition. She earned awards including Beauty Therapist of the Year, and advanced her skills with training from Elemis Steiner in London, which deepened her understanding of global beauty trends as well as a postgraduate diploma in Cosmetology from India.

 “Attaining an ITEC-certified in aesthetics and physiatrists I am relentlessly seeking new knowledge and understanding in the world of beauty and cosmetology.”

Award-winning therapist Kamani Ramlakan, crowned Beauty Therapist of the Year South Africa 2025, is a leading voice in inclusive, science-driven skincare.

Her expertise has been featured in local news and international publications, including Les Nouvelles Esthétiques (US edition). In 2025, she opened the Experience Stage at London’s first multicultural beauty show with her signature philosophy, “Treat, Don’t Trigger.”

Kamani also serves on the Board of CECOSA and is a Corporate Member of SAAHSP, championing excellence in the professional beauty industry.
